10 Steps for Getting Started with Your Jewelry Business

So you just signed up as a consultant – your starter package is on the way.

What now??

Here are 10 things to do to get started!

(Even if you’ve already been a consultant for a while and you might have done many of these things already, go through the list one-by-one, and make sure that they are all taken care of!)

Step 1 – Set up a work schedule

If you don’t have a schedule, you won’t get anything done! Set up some kind of work schedule for yourself to keep yourself organized.

Step 2 – Set up an email address for your business

Set up a free professional-sounding email address at Gmail.com including either your name or your business’s name. Avoid using numbers!

Step 3 – Get an account set up to take credit cards

You can get an account set up at squareup.com or use paypal.com.

Step 4 – Create a Facebook business page

Facebook allows you to create a free public page for your business, so go ahead and get that set up.

Step 5 – Create a VIP Facebook Group

Create a separate, private group on Facebook that you’ll use as your “VIP” group for interactions with your customers and potential customers.

Step 6 – Set up your consultant website

Your consultant account comes with a free website you can point customers to for them to purchase or to sign up as consultants under you. Customize this as best you can!

Step 7 – Order business cards

Create some business cards – You can use a site like VistaPrint.com or your business’s site. Make sure to put the link to your Facebook Page, your VIP Facebook Group, and your website on your business card, and always have some on hand to give out.

Step 8 – Get a bling bag

You should also get some kind of bag to carry your jewelry with you EVERYWHERE so you always have it on hand to show people who express an interest.

Step 9 – Announce your new journey on your Facebook wall

Show a picture of yourself wearing your jewelry, share a little bit about your “why” behind what motivated you to start your business, and let people know how excited you are to get started.

Step 10 – Throw a launch party

Invite as many people as possible. Create a Facebook event. Build up some hype and throw a fun party to show your new jewelry and business to your friends, family, and anyone else who might be interested!

Hopefully these tips will help you as you’re getting started on your journey!
