Live Sale Basics You Should Learn to Get the Most from Your Live Sales 😊

We’ve discussed the importance of running live sales. But how specifically do you go about them?

What are some best practices you can follow?

Here are some tips that could help:

  • Go live on a public page, like your public business page, and then share the video to your VIP group
  • There’s no right or wrong on how often to do your live sales, but probably the more often the better – You could start off with twice a week and find a rhythm that works for you and your audience
  • Be consistent with when you go live – Try to make it the same days and times each week (try checking in with your audience and getting a feel for what times work best for them)
  • You don’t need any fancy equipment except for a phone
  • If you want to purchase more equipment at some point, start with a tripod to hold up your phone, then you could use a mic to get better sound quality, as well as lights to get the best lighting possible
  • You don’t need to dress up super fancy, but try to look professional and be the best version of yourself
  • Have a gripping description – for example, “Stop scrolling!” – use an emoji, say who you are, put a story about why you sell your jewelry, etc.
  • If possible, have someone else there helping you so they can catch comments while you’re presenting
  • Start your video by introducing yourself
  • Don’t put a break at the beginning of the video waiting for people to show up, because the majority of the people who watch the video will actually watch it on the replay (not while it’s live), and it may cause you to lose the attention of the people who are watching it live
  • Do a little small talk at first – perhaps get into your story a little, let people know who you are, why you sell your jewelry, when you typically go live, etc.
  • Make sure that you smile
  • Welcome people when they join
  • If something goes wrong, don’t get flustered but just go with it
  • Several times in your video, you can ask people to like your video and comment #live if watching it live or #replay if watching the replay
  • Try to get people to share the video, which may involve offering incentives (such as being entered in to a free drawing)
  • Try to get your audience involved – ask questions, encourage participation
  • Be excited! (If you’re not naturally an excited-looking person, you may need to practice this)
  • Watch other consultants to get ideas of how to format your live sales, and do what works for you (incorporate games, etc.)
  • Have a general plan and idea for what you’re going to do

Hopefully some of these tips will help give you confidence to do the best live sales possible.
