In your business your best value will come from your repeat customers – the ones that are loyal to you and keep coming back time and again.
But how do you earn this kind of loyalty from people? How can you gain their trust so that they feel connected to you and want to keep coming back?
Here are 3 tips!
1. Be real
Be genuine and real with people.
People are drawn to genuineness and they may be more likely to stick with you if they feel you are a real person like them, not a sales robot.
And if you say you’re going to do something, follow through and do it!
2. Be accommodating
As much as is feasible (and within reason) you want to try to accommodate customers, and even go beyond expectations.
If they change their mind on a purchase and want to cancel or return it, don’t make them jump through a bunch of hoops.
If they have a problem with their order do everything you can to help get it resolved.
If they want to pay via a method that isn’t your preferred, consider changing the way you do things to accept their preferred method of payment.
In general, consider yourself a servant of your customers and do what you can to cater to them.
3. Be positive
Be friendly and grateful in as many interactions with your customers as possible. Resist the urge to talk back to customers, even when they are rude.
There may be a time and a place for putting up boundaries with customers who are causing issues with your business, but generally you should remain cordial, friendly, warm, and welcoming.
Being positive includes not talking bad about others as well – whether that be other consultants or customers.
