When Life Gives You Lemons..

I want to piggy back off my article yesterday about Stop stressing out about things you can’t change.

Yesterday, I talked about how there are some things in life you can impact, but really, most things you can’t.

Most things are just out of your control. The traffic, a loved one getting a terrible disease, the weather, etc.

So what do you do? What do you do if you are stuck in traffic and getting stressed out?

What do you do if the weather is not as you would like it?

What do you do if you have done everything in your power, and still aren’t getting sales?

The answer? Surrender.

Realize that you can only control the things that you can control, and surrender everything else.

Understand that there are bigger things at work than yourself.

In my case, I believe in God, and I believe that “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

If you can’t control it, then there is no use in complaining or stressing out.

Just surrender.

Use this situation as a tool for growth.

If you are stuck in traffic, use this as an opportunity to grow in patience and love. Use it as an opportunity to learn to not complain.

I have three kids, that I am constantly reminding to “not complain.”

What am I teaching them when I say “don’t complain,” but then in traffic, or in bad weather, I complain?

Your children will pick up far more of your example than your words.

Conclusion

What negative things are going on in your life?

How can you surrender to these things, and use them as opportunities for growth?
